New learning according to the educational model applying constructivist theory

Sharing at the seminar “Sunshine Maple Bear – Create a future with children” taking place on January 20 in Hanoi, Master Dang Thi Thanh Nhan – Principal of Sunshine Maple Bear Primary School said, applying constructivism theory in education is an effective method to help maximize learners’ capacity.

Besides Master Dang Thi Thanh Nhan, the program also had the participation of many leading experts in the field of education such as Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pho Duc Hoa – Vice Dean of Primary Education, Hanoi National University of Education; Master Angela Quinn – Maple Bear Training Manager Asia; Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Minh – Lecturer at the Faculty of Literature, Hanoi National University of Education.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pho Duc Hoa shared at the event: “According to the constructivist model, learning activities allow students to build knowledge by experimenting with ideas from previous experiences and understandings, from there apply to other situations to draw new knowledge”.

Sharing the same opinion, Master Thanh Nhan said that learning according to an educational model applying constructivism will help students have the capabilities and qualities of 21st century citizens.

Besides, Master Thanh Nhan also affirmed, building a happy and respectful educational environment for teachers as well as students is an important goal. Only then will teachers and students maximize their creativity in teaching and learning. If the school has happy teachers who are satisfied with the working environment, then there will be happy students.

Diving into modern training methods and programs, Ms. Nhan shared: “At Sunshine Maple Bear Primary School, students will directly participate in self-directed experiential projects and activities, in order to character education, development of individual talents and abilities. STEM activities help students develop their ability to explore and research science. In addition, children are also focused on developing skills in perception, regulation, interpretation and analysis of emotions (EQ).”.

According to Ms. Angela Quinn – Maple Bear Training Director in Asia, in order to become global citizens in the future, mastering two languages is very important, helping children develop in all aspects, increase link brain cells, positively impact high-level cognitive activities.

Besides introducing constructivist theory, the workshop also introduced the topic “books with children”, attracting a lot of attention from parents.

The formation of reading habits in children is one of the important methods to help children develop comprehensively, accumulate knowledge, and expand their understanding of the world around them. Sharing about this, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Minh – Lecturer of the Faculty of Literature, Hanoi National University of Education – Founder of the project “Open the book” said that each student can create his own opinion. knowledge through reading books.

“Reading books properly will help children nurture curiosity, interest in learning and be exposed to an endless treasure of knowledge. To do that, schools and families need to work together to build a reading environment and guide reading for children,” said Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Minh.
