Opening of Sunshine Week: Students learn about five core values

On September 14, 2020, the first lesson of Sunshine Week, students across the Sunshine Maple Bear education system had time to learn about the school’s five core values.

Each grade has different experiences suitable for each student’s age, but one thing in common is that these activities are very interesting, making most children enjoy.

At the beginning of the school day, children are taught about five core values by teachers: Self-reliance, Respect, Hoai Bao, Empathy and Shining. After the lesson, SMbers all understand what these values are, but in a very cute and funny way. When asked about Shine, Ky Duyen, a student of class 2B1 replied: “Shining means I’m good at something, I should be confident about it, I’ll definitely shine.”

In addition to being introduced to these values, elementary school students were also allowed to participate in the experience of coloring a picture of the five values by their teachers. This is an experience that many students enjoy and are excited to participate in.

For Kindergarten, children are allowed to do tasks that are appropriate for their age, for example: picking up cotton swabs in a jar, putting toys in the basket, learning to brush their teeth, or folding blankets, folding super fast clothes. The teachers of Sunshine Maple Bear Kindergarten class shared that even though they were a bit embarrassed, many cubs still felt especially excited when they were able to complete many tasks by themselves.

Sunshine Maple Bear Week will last until September 18, 2020. The series of activities aims to build core values for students, and is part of the theme of the 2020-2021 school year: Constructive school year.
