WANT CHILDREN TO LOVE ME, WE MUST LOVE CHILDREN FIRST

As a teacher of Physical Education at Sunshine Maple Bear Primary School, Mr. Ha Trung Nghia is one of the judges of the second season of the “I can dance” competition at the school. In front of the most exciting dance competition of the school year, let’s listen to the sharing of a young and enthusiastic teacher.

What predestined you to stick with the teaching profession, and specifically the physical education teacher?

Every opportunity begins with his love of dance performance. In 2009, I got acquainted with hip-hop for the first time. At first, I only joined when I followed the Hiphop movement with my friends at that time. However, the more I dance, the more passionate I feel.

From the outside, people often mistakenly believe that people love to perform on stage because they like the spotlight, cheers or fame. But for me, the dance steps bring more than that flashy exterior. For the first time, I felt enthusiasm and passion that can take us so much further. I changed the way I look at life, about future struggles. I have grown up since then. Over time, I gradually realized that it would be much better if I passed this enthusiasm and passion to the next generations. That’s when I decided that I would become a teacher

During your time on the podium, what was the most difficult job you have ever faced?

From my freshman year at university, I started teaching clubs and gifted centers in the Hanoi area, and now I have been standing on the podium for 5 years. During this time, perhaps the biggest difficulty I faced was the opposition from my family. Why love dancing but not an engineer, a doctor… Why a physical education teacher and not a teacher of more focused subjects? The first steps on the career path without the support from family for me was an extremely difficult beginning.

But then I remained steadfast with the path I chose. Empower yourself to be a better version of yesterday. This is the best way to convince the family. Now I feel very happy because of this consistency. I am loved by my students, and my family has also supported me.

So what has helped him become a beloved teacher at Sunshine Maple Bear Primary School?

I think it’s simple, in order for the child to love me, I must first love the child. Also because I love children, I became an elementary school teacher. While teaching, I always strive for harmony, not strict discipline. Of course, rules and regulations are necessary in educating children, but it is also necessary to be closer to and understand children. To me each student is like a friend, I teach them every day, but they also teach me how to be patient, how to understand children better and from there, help me become a better teacher.

My educational method is not to hold hands, not to teach children according to stereotypes. Children can explore and learn on their own. Only when a student makes a mistake, I correct it there, and then suggest the most effective way to do it. It is important to always practice with the students, cheering and encouraging them.

The competition “I can dance” has entered its second season. This year there is a huge difference in the number of performances as well as the investment for each performance. How do you prepare to bring the fairest evaluation to the contest?

I also know that this year you guys invested more in the contest. The school also invites coaches from the RMIT dance team to guide the children. Watching the training process, I feel both nervous and excited. I can’t wait to see them shine on stage, feel the energy of these little boys shine.

In order to do well as a weightlifter, in addition to strengthening my expertise, I also regularly watch major competitions to learn from the judges of the same competition.
Do you have any advice to help students achieve high results in this competition?

First, I want to share with my children that, winning or losing, winning or not winning is not important. The most important thing is the process of trying hard to practice and practice to improve, which is a meaningful time that you share with your friends in your dance team. Those are priceless things. In order to achieve the best dance, in addition to the choreography, the students also need to prepare carefully in terms of costumes and music for their part and try to show well what the teachers and coaches have instructed above. class.

Wishing all of my beloved students to complete their exams well, shine on the stage, and shine in the future journey ahead.
